These Terms and Conditions govern enrolment, participation, certification and use of materials within the Dive Centre Operations & Management Professional (DCOMP) programme.

By enrolling in the programme, candidates acknowledge that they have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. About the Programme

The Dive Centre Operations & Management Professional (DCOMP) programme is a professional development programme designed to develop knowledge and skills related to the management, operation and leadership of recreational dive businesses.

The programme may be delivered through:

  • Online learning
  • Classroom instruction
  • Live virtual sessions
  • Blended learning
  • Independent study

Dive Business Manager reserves the right to update programme content, assessments and learning materials to maintain industry relevance and professional standards.

2. Entry Requirements

Unless otherwise stated, candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess sufficient English language proficiency to complete the programme.
  • Have access to a suitable computer, tablet or mobile device.
  • Have reliable internet access for online learning components.
  • Be capable of completing written assignments and assessments.

No scuba diving certification is required unless specifically stated for a specialist programme or elective module.

3. Enrolment

Enrolment is confirmed only when:

  • Full payment has been received; or
  • A written payment arrangement has been approved by Dive Business Manager.

Dive Business Manager reserves the right to refuse or cancel enrolment where necessary for administrative, legal or professional reasons.

4. Fees and Payment

Programme fees are published at the time of enrolment.

All fees must be paid in the stated currency.

Candidates are responsible for any bank charges, exchange fees, taxes or transaction costs associated with payment unless otherwise stated.

Failure to meet payment obligations may result in suspension or removal of access to course materials and assessments.

5. Refunds and Transfers

Online Programmes

Once access to digital learning materials has been granted, course fees are generally non-refundable.

Refund requests submitted before access has been issued may be considered at the discretion of Dive Business Manager.

Live Programmes

Cancellation requests received more than fourteen (14) days before the scheduled start date may be eligible for a refund, less any administrative costs incurred.

Cancellation requests received within fourteen (14) days of the start date may not be eligible for a refund.

Transfers to a future intake may be offered at the discretion of Dive Business Manager.

6. Candidate Responsibilities

Candidates are expected to:

  • Act professionally and respectfully.
  • Complete all assessments honestly.
  • Submit original work.
  • Meet programme deadlines.
  • Respect instructors, assessors and fellow candidates.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of any proprietary programme materials.

Dive Business Manager reserves the right to remove candidates whose conduct is considered disruptive, abusive, dishonest or otherwise inappropriate.

7. Academic Integrity

All submitted work must be the candidate’s own original work.

The following are prohibited:

  • Plagiarism
  • Copying another candidate’s work
  • Falsifying records or evidence
  • Using unauthorised assistance during assessments
  • Submitting AI-generated work as personal work without disclosure where prohibited

Breaches of academic integrity may result in:

  • Assessment failure
  • Re-submission requirements
  • Removal from the programme
  • Refusal of certification
  • Permanent exclusion from future programmes

No refund will be provided in cases of academic misconduct.

8. Assessments and Certification

Certification is awarded only upon successful completion of all required programme elements.

Requirements may include:

  • Knowledge reviews
  • Written assignments
  • Portfolio projects
  • Case studies
  • Practical exercises
  • Final examinations

Dive Business Manager reserves the right to require additional evidence of competence where necessary.

All certification decisions are final.

9. Portfolio Assignments

Portfolio assignments must demonstrate the candidate’s own knowledge, understanding and application of course concepts.

Where workplace examples are used, candidates are responsible for ensuring compliance with any confidentiality obligations.

Assessors may request clarification, amendments or additional evidence before approving submitted work.

10. Certification Statement

Successful completion of DCOMP demonstrates that a candidate has met the programme requirements established by Dive Business Manager.

DCOMP certification:

  • Does not grant authority to operate a dive business.
  • Does not replace legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Does not replace professional scuba diving certifications issued by recognised training agencies.
  • Does not guarantee employment, promotion or commercial success.

Candidates remain solely responsible for compliance with local laws, regulations and agency standards.

11. Intellectual Property

All DCOMP materials remain the intellectual property of Dive Business Manager.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Student manuals
  • Instructor guides
  • Workbooks
  • Presentations
  • Graphics
  • Videos
  • Assessments
  • Downloadable resources
  • Online learning content

Materials may not be:

  • Reproduced
  • Shared
  • Distributed
  • Uploaded to external websites
  • Sold
  • Licensed
  • Modified

without prior written permission from Dive Business Manager.

Enrolment grants a limited, non-transferable licence for personal educational use only.

12. Recording and Distribution

Candidates may not record, reproduce or distribute:

  • Live classes
  • Webinars
  • Coaching sessions
  • Instructor presentations

without prior written permission.

Unauthorised recording or distribution may result in immediate removal from the programme and possible legal action.

13. Technology Requirements

Candidates are responsible for maintaining suitable:

  • Internet access
  • Hardware
  • Software
  • Email access

Dive Business Manager is not responsible for interruptions caused by technical failures beyond its reasonable control.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dive Business Manager shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of income
  • Loss of profits
  • Loss of business opportunity
  • Indirect damages
  • Consequential losses

arising from participation in the programme.

Any liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the candidate for the relevant programme.

15. Programme Changes

Dive Business Manager reserves the right to:

  • Update course content
  • Modify assessment requirements
  • Change instructors or assessors
  • Adjust schedules
  • Improve programme structure

Such changes may be implemented without prior notice where reasonably necessary.

16. Suspension and Termination

Dive Business Manager may suspend or terminate enrolment where:

  • Fees remain unpaid.
  • Academic misconduct occurs.
  • Programme rules are breached.
  • Candidate behaviour is inappropriate or disruptive.

No refund is guaranteed following suspension or termination.

17. Privacy

Personal information provided during enrolment will be used for:

  • Programme administration
  • Candidate communication
  • Assessment processing
  • Certification records
  • Quality assurance

Dive Business Manager will not sell candidate information to third parties.

18. Force Majeure

Dive Business Manager shall not be liable for delays, interruptions or cancellations caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:

  • Natural disasters
  • Government restrictions
  • Pandemics
  • Internet outages
  • Civil unrest
  • Acts of terrorism

19. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws applicable to the jurisdiction in which Dive Business Manager is registered and operates.
